This is the entryway to The Trove at the White Plains Public Library. It's creation reflects the story of The Trove’s discovery developed by PM & Co in conjunction with the library.
The story: One day in 2004, Louis and Andrea stopped by the library to see what new things they could discover. There was an excitement in the air and workers were coming to start building the new Children’s Library.
For weeks the children had seen architects and librarians carrying blueprints that looked like treasure maps. Today the workers put on hard hats, picked up sledgehammers and started to break through the wall.
The children watched from a distance as chunks of plaster crumbled away, bookshelves tumbled and dust filled the air. As the haze cleared, streams of light poured through the opening to reveal a passageway. A librarian stepped forward, with Louis and Andrea leading the way. They peered into the softly lit passage and could see a wondrous place, filled with the promise of endless imagination, exploration and discovery.
