PROBLEM
The White Plains Public Library needed a new name and identity for its new children’s
library facility. Formerly called “Children’s Services,” the
library wanted the identity to reflect a new, exciting and experiential destination.
The project encompassed a wide variety of disciplines including naming, story
development for the library’s origins, logo development, color palette,
collateral material and environmental design.
SOLUTION
PM & Co developed “The Trove” identity for the White Plains Children’s
Library, creating it around the magic of youthful discovery. The actual definition
of a trove is “a collection of valuable items discovered or found” – perfect
for a library.Wanting to attract readers age 10-12, the name and logo are distinct,
youthful, and exciting. With bright colors, graffiti-like lettering and a cool
fun shape, it promises to be a place to imagine, explore and discover.
